Service overview

Search engine optimisation is the work of making your website the clearest, fastest and most useful answer to the questions your customers type into Google. We combine technical fixes, content that matches real search intent and steady authority building, so organic search becomes a channel you can rely on.

SEO is not a one-off trick — it is a system that compounds when it is maintained.
  • Technical audits
  • Keyword research
  • Content strategy
  • On-page optimisation
  • Local SEO
  • Site migrations
  • Structured data
  • Link earning

01 - What SEO covers

Good SEO starts with the basics that search engines need: pages they can crawl and index, a structure that makes sense, fast loading on mobile and clean signals such as titles, headings, canonical tags and structured data. When those foundations are in place, every piece of content you publish has a fair chance to rank.

On top of that foundation we build content around what your customers actually search for, at every stage from first research to ready to buy. We map keywords to pages, improve the pages you already have, plan new ones where there are gaps and help you earn mentions and links from relevant, reputable sites.

Three areas we work on together:

  • Technical SEO: crawling, indexing, speed, Core Web Vitals and structured data
  • Content and on-page SEO: keyword mapping, page briefs, copy and internal links
  • Authority and local SEO: digital PR, citations and Google Business Profile

How we
work

Clear plans
Our principle
Lumna

“We explain every recommendation in plain English, show the evidence behind it and agree the priorities with you before any work starts.”

02 - Our approach

Every SEO engagement follows the same four steps, scaled to the size of your site and your goals. We start by listening: what you sell, who buys it, which markets matter and how organic search fits alongside your other channels.

We then audit the site and the search landscape, turn the findings into a prioritised roadmap and work through it month by month, checking results against the goals we agreed at the start.

The process, step by step:

  • Discovery: goals, audiences, markets, competitors and current performance in Search Console and analytics
  • Audit: a technical crawl, content and keyword gap analysis and a review of backlinks and local listings
  • Roadmap: a prioritised plan that ranks each fix and opportunity by likely impact and effort
  • Delivery: technical fixes, page improvements, new content and outreach, done by us or with your team
  • Measurement: monthly reporting on rankings, organic traffic, enquiries and the next priorities

03 - Technical SEO

Technical SEO makes sure search engines can reach, render and understand every important page. We review how your site is crawled, which pages are indexed and why others are excluded, and we check redirects, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, robots rules, hreflang for multilingual sites and structured data.

Speed and stability matter too. We measure Core Web Vitals with real-user data where it is available, identify what slows your pages down and work with your developers, or ours, to fix it. Planning a redesign or a platform move? We map old URLs to new ones and check the launch so you keep the visibility you have earned.

04 - Content & on-page SEO

Rankings follow relevance. We research the words and questions your customers use, group them by intent and map each group to the page best placed to answer it. Existing pages are improved first, because they often hold the quickest wins.

Where there are gaps, we write detailed briefs or the content itself: service pages, guides, comparison pages and articles that answer real questions with depth and clarity. Titles, meta descriptions, headings, images and internal links are optimised along the way so every page sends clear signals.

05 - Local SEO & authority

If you serve customers in specific towns or regions, local search can be your most valuable channel. We optimise your Google Business Profile, keep your business details consistent across directories, build location pages that are genuinely useful and help you gather and respond to reviews.

Authority comes from other reputable sites referencing yours. We focus on earned links: useful content worth citing, digital PR around your expertise and relationships in your industry. We do not buy links or use private networks, because the risk to your business is not worth it.

06 - What you get

You always know what has been done, what changed and what comes next. Typical deliverables include:

  • A technical SEO audit with a prioritised fix list
  • Keyword research and a keyword-to-page map
  • Content briefs or finished, optimised copy
  • On-page recommendations for titles, headings, internal links and schema
  • Google Business Profile and local listings set-up or clean-up
  • A monthly report covering rankings, organic traffic, conversions and next steps

07 - Why Lumna

SEO works best when it is joined up with design, development, content and advertising. At Lumna those specialists sit in the same team, so technical fixes get implemented, content gets designed properly and paid search data informs organic priorities.

We are honest about timescales. Technical fixes can show results within weeks, while competitive content and authority work usually takes several months to build. We will tell you what is realistic for your market before you commit.

How long does SEO take to show results?

It depends on your site, your market and the competition. Technical fixes and improvements to existing pages can make a difference within weeks; new content and authority building usually take three to six months or more to reach their potential. We set expectations for your situation during the audit.

No. Nobody controls Google's results, and anyone who guarantees rankings is taking risks with your site. We guarantee a clear plan, careful work and honest reporting against the goals we agree.

Not necessarily. Some clients start with a one-off audit and roadmap that their own team implements. Others prefer ongoing monthly support. We will recommend what suits your goals and resources.

We can. Our writers produce optimised service pages, guides and articles, or we supply detailed briefs for your team if you prefer to write in-house.
